Background to Baptism of Fire, short story

Baptism of Fire is a short story I wrote to capture the shock of an innocent man caught up his first aerial combat in World War 1. It achieved a third place in a UK writing contest. Like several short stories in the anthology, I explore ideas that could be developed into a series or novel. I enjoyed Captain W.E John’s Biggles character and wondered whether I could aspire with Mungo to develop a story line that followed his experiences and… brief life… er… or maybe not. As I am a hybrid panster/plotter, I haven’t got that far. I hope you enjoy it.
